“Magic” by Ben Rector
Ben Rector never fails to produce music that reflects true heart-felt emotions that always tend to pull at my heart-strings. His songs always make me take a step back, and look at my lifestyle from a different and more simplistic point of view. This album is no different than the rest, including soulful melodies and upbeat lyrics in each of his songs.
“ye” by Kanye West
Whether you’re a Kanye fan or not, it’s been nearly impossible not to have heard of his new album. With new sounds and vocals that bring you back to his older albums while still giving off a new flare, it’s hard not to find yourself playing the songs on repeat.
My favorite songs from his album include Ghost Town and Violent Crimes.
“God’s Favorite Customer” by Father John Misty
I have been a huge Father John Misty fan ever since I first listened to Chateau Lobby #4. His lyrics are different than a lot of other artists that I listen to, which I like, because it’s refreshing to hear songs with lyrics that sound more poetic than redundant. He has recently come out with a new album, which stays true to his original sound and wit that make him stand out from the rest. His smooth rock voice, catchy instrumentals and heart-felt ballads make this an album and artist to listen to if you’re looking to venture out.
The songs from this album I’m listening to the most are Mr. Tillman and Disappointing Diamonds Are the Rarest of Them All
“Come Tomorrow” by Dave Matthews Band
It has been four long years since Dave Matthews Band’s last album, Under the Table and Dreaming, and this new album makes up for it and came out just in time for summer. I have been listening to their first song release before the full album, Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin), constantly for the past couple of weeks and I was thrilled to see that this album stayed true to that Dave Matthews sound that we all have come to know and love. This is the perfect album to play at your backyard pool party or while riding with the windows down in the car (if the temperature doesn’t hit over 90 degrees, of course).
That Girl Is You, Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin), and Idea Of You have come to be my favorite songs from this album.
