Some of my favorite products are the Origins moisturizers because they wake my skin in the morning,
and are light enough to wear throughout the day alone, or underneath my makeup. I find that I am less
likely to be oily throughout the day or at night if I moisturize early in the morning and turn to a heavy one
at night. Moisturizing at night leaves my face feeling almost heavier because of its hydration. The
products I use on my face in the morning are a part of the Origins GinZign line that is made for tired
and achy skin. After a trip to the beach, or a hike through Providence Canyon my skin is usually tired
the next morning. This really helps to keep my skin moisturized and smooth while keeping my face
from feeling oily. The GinZing line also has a body lotion that I haven’t tried yet because I don’t like the
feel of lotion on my skin. However, I encourage you all to try it if you’re into a good morning wake up and a refreshing start to the day. I like to apply a thin layer of the products from the GinZing line before
starting my day because they’re infused with coffee beans, giving your skin the perfect wake me up,
and a moisturizer that matches the iced coffee I am bound to end up with in hand shortly after.
At night, I like to transition between the Night-A-Mins and the Drink Up Intensive mask., I probably use the Drink Up Intensive Mask once a week, the only time I would use it twice a week is if I had a sunburn, but I barely burn (sun block saves lives people!). I have found that they are both thick and moisturizing but the Night-A-Mins is for more of a regular use, so it is lighter than the Drink Up Intensive, because it is such an intense hydrating mask. At first, I was skeptical about it, because when I woke up I felt like my skin was still thick in the mask and I felt oily throughout the day, but I am sure that’s because I was using too much of it and not rinsing my face off well enough in the morning. So remember ladies, everything in moderation. That said, I always reach for the Drink Up Intensive after I’ve let my skin sit underneath the charcoal mask. I really couldn’t pick between the two as to which is my favorite, but I can tell you, after being in the sun all day or even when having a quiet night in, it feels so good to hydrate my skin.

Though I stick religiously to my moisturizers and masks, I am sure there are probably some tricks out there for their peel off masks and their Rose Clay mask. The Charcoal peel off really does clean my pores well and leaves my face feeling so smooth. This is the mask (Image 2) that I love to pair with the Drink Up Intensive mask. They are sold together in a value pack at Sephora and I think it is because the combination of these two on my skin leaves a lasting effect of cleanliness, and health. Though I haven’t noticed much of a lasting impact with the Rose Mask, I will say it has these little beads in it that exfoliate while it claims to retexturize the skin. I do love a good exfoliation and I have decided when my skin feels tight or dry and I want to apply a mask on just my T zone, I reach for this. Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong with these Origins Masks.
Next up, my Holy Grail face wash is Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash! I really don’t know what my skin would look like without this. I discovered this the summer going into my senior year of high school and have been absolutely hooked ever since. I have oily/combination skin and I think using this once a day is the only thing that really cleans my skin, without drying it out, and without leaving it feeling tacky. I would really encourage anyone who hasn’t found their go to face wash to try this one out! I like to switch it up, using this at night or in the morning sometimes. I think that after a long day at work or out in the sun/heat, I would reach for this. I have nothing bad to say about this, a little product goes a long way, and I will probably continue to buy this till it isn’t sold anymore (haha please Origins don’t do that to us). When I first started using it I didn’t like how frothy it was but I think that is because I was using too much product, so if that scares you, don’t worry, again I have had to learn to have a much lighter hand with any kind of skin care or make up product.
Some other things to remember this summer when thinking of your skin are obviously sunblock, and water. I cannot express to you enough how much my acne has cleared up since I have started using Origins, but I think it also has to do with better life choices, like drinking water instead of soda. Again, everything in moderation. Water helps to clear out any dirt in your pores, and obviously keeps you hydrated, so your skin is less likely to produce so many oils. If you aren’t a fan of drinking water because it has no flavor, (no shame, I was like this for 18 years of my life,) try drinking juices instead! Some of my favorites are the Natalie’s brand lemonade and strawberry lemonade (Image 4), you have to try it! Even though juice is “juice,” the majority of it is just water and could help to give you a little flavor and hydration!
I hope you all make this summer about giving yourselves a little TLC, whether it be with skin care, drinking water, or just spending time with yourself. Remember this is the time to rebalance, reboost, and refocus before the school year starts again and were forced back into work, school, and trying to find time to tailgate (Go Noles.) Happy summer, till next time.
