Everyone knows how Kanye just dropped his new album but what they don’t know is he is working on a low income housing project on the side. The rapper has been known for music and fashion but recently has announced he is getting into architecture. He is starting this project that people can now afford and looks similar to the YEEZY studio in Calabasas. He announced the project just a couple weeks after posting images of his new California home worth near 60 million dollars, which have us all questioning if these complexes are really going to be affordable to live in.
There are only a couple of design inspo pictures released and they are utopian style spaces. In each picture there is not much in the rooms besides some white jeanneret chairs that sell for around $16,000 apiece. This new complex is being made out of prefabricated concrete and polystyrene components with the same yeezy aesthetic that everyone loves from his clothing line. Kanye paired with co-designer and face modules founder Jalil Peraza to make this project come to life. Peraza was also the first one to post the first pictures of the project on social media.
Kanye also said this is his plan to “make the world better,” but we still are wondering if this is going to actually be affordable or if it might plummet. We all know Kanye doesn’t like failure so he is definitely going to push hard for this project to become a success. We still don’t know any details about when the complexes will be open or how much it will cost to live in the first ever yeezy development; but we are patiently waiting to hear all about it.
