It's no secret that college and eating healthy are not best friends. Between early morning classes, late night Starbucks study sessions, and going out with friends, it's practically impossible to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs. I know a lot of people say frozen meals aren't good for you but I've found that frozen meals are the easiest way to get a good meal and know exactly what all is in it. Thanks to brands such as Lean Cuisine, Smart Food, Jimmy Dean, and Healthy Choice, frozen meals aren't the disgusting, weird looking food people are used to. They have such hearty options that aren't too expensive but at the same time, filling.
1. If you know that you're going to be busy in the upcoming week, try to have all your meals prepared that Sunday before.
2. When you go grocery shopping, set a budget that way you're not tempted to buy those cookies or Little Debbie cakes. Make a grocery list and stick to it.
3. Late nights are inevitable therefore, coffee is a must. If you go to Starbucks try to ask for no whip on your coffee or ask them if they can make it "skinny." Instead of getting a Large, try to get a small. Especially since it's Fall and Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back, try to limit yourself to only one or two a week.
4. Make sure you buy a multivaitamin like One a Day or the drug store's brand. It's hard to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs so a multi vitamin is great for that and preventing you from catching that cold everyone gets once November comes.
Easy Meals to Try On The Go
Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal + a spoonful of peanut butter
Lean Cuisine frozen meals. My personal favorites is the Panini and personal pan pizza.
Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches. There is also a wide variety of these if you don't like English muffins. Some have croissants or biscuits. Jimmy Dean also makes a really good breakfast bowl.
What are some of your favorite healthy, on the go meals?
