As we all know, it is almost officially fall – which means holidays, parties and lots of food! If it’s not burgers and beers at tailgates, then it’s turkey, stuffing and more different types of desserts than you can even count. The delicious, yet calorie-packed pumpkin spice latte is back, your grandma has named you honorary pie taster, and on top of everything else, the gyms have started to enforce the most inconvenient hours of operation. So before you start stressing over how to maintain your perfectly toned summer bod, here are some simple steps to follow to help you avoid wearing your “fat pants” on New Year’s Day.
The fall season is finally here! The leaves have started to change color, the fields have filled with pumpkins, and the haunted houses have started to be built. Fall is one of the most popular seasons partially due to never ending traditions during the holiday season. Being a college student, it is sometime sad to be away from your home/family during these times. But have no fear! Tallahassee, FL actually houses many great fall activities to explore. From haunted houses to corn mazes, Tallahassee has some awesome local fall fun for every age group to enjoy.
Here are just a few of the many local events that will get anyone in the spirit this season:
Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church’s Annual Pumpkin Patch
· This Patch is open from 10 am- 3 pm.
· Proceeds end up going to various church missions.
Aunt Louise’s Farm/ Corn Maze
· Open weekends until November 21st.
· Saturdays: 10-6 and Sundays: 2-6
The man bun became the dominant trending men's hairstyle in 2014. I personally love the man bun; it's sexy in an effortless way and because the topnot became a popular womans trend as well, we were all sorta matching with our little buns.
But, the man bun is now evolving into something better. It's time to think outside the bun. I'm not talking about tacos, I'm talking about the #ManBraid.
Men are now French Braiding their excess hair back and I'm obsessed! This look is edgy and extremely versatile. Styles are ranging from intricate, tight braids to messy and uneven.
Many guys are buzzing the sides of their heads and leaving the top free to braid as they please, as shown in the pictures.
I LOVE this style. It adds volume and a uniqueness to the common man bun, while keeping the hair away from the face.
How do you guys feel about this Khal Drogo inspired look? Let us know in the comments section and our Facebook page!
Excuse me while I look up some more #manbraid pics
It's no secret that college and eating healthy are not best friends. Between early morning classes, late night Starbucks study sessions, and going out with friends, it's practically impossible to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs. I know a lot of people say frozen meals aren't good for you but I've found that frozen meals are the easiest way to get a good meal and know exactly what all is in it. Thanks to brands such as Lean Cuisine, Smart Food, Jimmy Dean, and Healthy Choice, frozen meals aren't the disgusting, weird looking food people are used to. They have such hearty options that aren't too expensive but at the same time, filling.
1. If you know that you're going to be busy in the upcoming week, try to have all your meals prepared that Sunday before.
2. When you go grocery shopping, set a budget that way you're not tempted to buy those cookies or Little Debbie cakes. Make a grocery list and stick to it.
3. Late nights are inevitable therefore, coffee is a must. If you go to Starbucks try to ask for no whip on your coffee or ask them if they can make it "skinny." Instead of getting a Large, try to get a small. Especially since it's Fall and Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back, try to limit yourself to only one or two a week.
4. Make sure you buy a multivaitamin like One a Day or the drug store's brand. It's hard to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs so a multi vitamin is great for that and preventing you from catching that cold everyone gets once November comes.
Easy Meals to Try On The Go
Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal + a spoonful of peanut butter
Lean Cuisine frozen meals. My personal favorites is the Panini and personal pan pizza.
Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches. There is also a wide variety of these if you don't like English muffins. Some have croissants or biscuits. Jimmy Dean also makes a really good breakfast bowl.
What are some of your favorite healthy, on the go meals?
Fashion and music run parallel in importance and significance at huge music festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, and many more. When planning your outfits for these amazing multi-day concerts make sure to find unique pieces that stand out, but are also comfortable for long days outside and on your feet! Sunglasses, flowy tops, head pieces, bohemian accents, and layered jewelry are always "go to's" during this season. Below is a look book video I made during Music Midtown a few months ago where artists such as Lana Del Rey, Eminem, Bastille, Lorde, John Mayer and more preformed. The video features outfits my friend and I wore during the incredible, two day concert event in Atlanta, Georgia. Enjoy!
Valentine's Day: IT'S BACK! And hopefully going to be a whole lot sweeter than year's past. For some, you just met your Valentine last week, and for others, you've been going strong since before Valentine's Day 2K13. This post is meant for you and all ladies in between!
