The man bun became the dominant trending men's hairstyle in 2014. I personally love the man bun; it's sexy in an effortless way and because the topnot became a popular womans trend as well, we were all sorta matching with our little buns.
But, the man bun is now evolving into something better. It's time to think outside the bun. I'm not talking about tacos, I'm talking about the #ManBraid.
Men are now French Braiding their excess hair back and I'm obsessed! This look is edgy and extremely versatile. Styles are ranging from intricate, tight braids to messy and uneven.
Many guys are buzzing the sides of their heads and leaving the top free to braid as they please, as shown in the pictures.
I LOVE this style. It adds volume and a uniqueness to the common man bun, while keeping the hair away from the face.
How do you guys feel about this Khal Drogo inspired look? Let us know in the comments section and our Facebook page!
Excuse me while I look up some more #manbraid pics

With editorial photoshoots coming to an end, everyone at CLUTCH is feeling confident and excited about putting together our current issue. The photoshoots were all successful, and the directors concepts all got the attention necessary to help them shine through. A key player in these photoshoots was local makeup artist, Allison. She worked on every shoot to make sure the makeup fit with all the looks, and proved to everyone at CLUTCH how versatile she is in her abilities to work with men and women alike. After all the madness came to a close, we got a chance to ask her about some of her favorite beauty tips, and get some insight on where she learned about and built a passion for makeup and beauty.
Christie (C): When did you start noticing you had a passion for makeup?
Allison (A): Probably my junior year of high school. I wasn't really into my studies so I would watch YouTube videos on makeup. I started watching these girls just sitting in their rooms, and applying makeup on their face, they looked like completely different people. I thought it was so cool how foundation, concealer, or penciling in your eyebrows could enhance your natural beauty. It all just started to stick with me and I got obsessed honestly.
C: So you would say that YouTube is a good frame of reference for people trying to learn more about doing their makeup?
A: Absolutely. You can find a video explaining any beauty technique you want to learn.
C: If you had to name 3 favorite beauty products, what would they be?
A: L'Oréal Telescopic Carbon black mascara, I swear by that. Also, my eyebrow pencil from Anastasia in soft brown. Any lightweight foundation is a must, with a good bronzer, I use L'Oréal True Match.
C: Do you have any celebrities who embody your favorite make up style?
A: Kim Kardashian, by far. I know it’s cliché, the Kardashian’s and all, but their makeup never displeases me. It’s always on point. When I look for ideas, I’m always looking at them. They have a lot of different looks and it always turns out flawless.
C: What would be your dream career within the beauty or entertainment industry?
A: I would love to obviously start my own makeup line and build my own brand. I would want to be the only ambassador for my company. To start with Sephora and just move up to even more high end stores from there with my products.
C: What else do you like to do when you’re not doing makeup or obsessing over makeup on YouTube?
A: I love to hangout with my friends, obviously. I like to cook, I’m Italian so I like to try and recreate my families dishes. I think cooking is a way to be creative and is really fun.
C: Why did you move up to Tallahassee?
A: Well I fell in love with the campus. I was ready to get away from my hometown, and all my friends were here so that was a plus. Then I just knew that Tallahassee and Florida State would be the place to pursue my career in beauty and arts. I could just feel that there would be good opportunity here.
C: What is your signature fragrance that makes you feel like a power woman?
A: Oh jeez, it’s definitely the Jimmy Choo. The original Jimmy Choo perfume in the purple bottle. That’s my go to. It’s just such a sexy smell, it’s definitely my favorite.
C: What are your favorite clothing stores to shop at or brands to buy?
A: I love Forever 21, and I know that may sound weird, but even though they’re cheap I always get quality. I really like BeBe, and I shop at Aldo for shoes.
C: If you could give your #1 beauty tip, what would it be?
A: Blend the foundation, BRING IT DOWN TO THE NECK. That’s all I have to say. You never want to be wearing a mask.

Do you ever feel like your "every day makeup" routine is just a little on the blah side? Same thing day in and day out? If so, I'm here to offer some tips and tricks on how to amp up your fun n' flirty makeup looks that will be sure to show off your best assets!
1. White Out
The number 1 rule when applying eyeshadow is to USE A PRIMER ladies! Number 2 rule? Make the shadows POP by adding a white cream eye shadow stick over your primer, before applying shadow. The white will cancel out any discoloration or veins on your eyelids, and white makes any eyeshadow color appear more vibrant. NYX cosmetics offers a great cream shadow stick in the shade "Milk" for under $5!
Who doesn't love a healthy, natural glow?! Benefit Cosmetics offers different toned liquid highlighters that instantly add dimension and light to your face. Place highlighter on the focal points of your face; the top of your cheek bones, down the bridge of your nose, above your upper lip on your cupid's bow, and a little on your forehead...you'll be glowing inside and out! Benefit Cosmetics $26.
3. Conceal...the right way!
We all get those unfortunate bags under our eyes and little pimples here and due to stress, therefore concealer can sometimes be our #1 BFF, if used correctly that is! Try applying your concealer under your eyes in a triangle form instead of a long, streaky line. The triangle form will blend more easily and also appear more natural. Always pat the product from the outer eye to the inner corner, this will help the concealer settle in to the skin. No streaks! NARS creamy concealer ($29) is great to use on problem areas and under the eyes. A cheaper option is Maybelline New York's roller ball concealer in the shade "Brightener", this product really makes your look fresh and wide awake and it's only $7!
One of the most common makeup mishaps, is forgetting to set your under eye concealer. This is a step a lot of people overlook because they don't think it's necessary, but if you want the concealer to last under your eyes, flawlessly, all day long, you have to set it! Try Laura Mercier "Secret Brightening Powder" ($24), the best part is it brightens the area by giving off a lightening effect. I've also heard great reviews on Anastasia Beverly Hills "Banana" setting powder! Check out both for great results!
5. Arch it out
If you're in a rush and have absolutely no time to do a makeup look, just. do. your. brows. I can't stress enough how much of a difference filling in your eyebrows will make, they automatically shape and frame your face. Flaunt the natural look by only focusing on showing off your full brows! Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo ($23) comes in so many different shades and will instantly change your look (maybe even your life too)!
6. Lip Balm and Liner
Wanna make your lipstick actually last longer then 2 minutes?! Apply a lip balm before applying any color, to eliminate dry, cracked lips. Also, a lip liner can essentially change your entire look. A liner plumps and adds volume, while adding a base color for your lipstick to attach to. NARS Velvet Lip Liners ($24) are really great!
Most importantly, your skin is super delicate. Make sure to ALWAYS take off your makeup before working out and going to bed. Sleeping with makeup ages your skin drastically. Removing makeup helps prevent fine lines, acne, and wrinkles.
I hope you enjoy these easy tips and tricks!
2014 was all about the radiant orchid hue (okay...maybe don't because it's still super cute) and now we welcome 2015's effortless marsala shade that recently was crowned "color of the year" by Pantone. With the fresh, new year comes authentic styles, trends, outlooks, and even a new "IT" color! Marsala is a deep red wine shade, with brown undertones, that exudes earthiness and warmth.
Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, stated "this hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings, and interiors." The best part about this shade is that it's a neutral color! While being understated, it still seems to stand out beautifully. Marsala is the absolute perfect, strong accent color against brighter, bold hues. Try out this new color trend in your makeup, clothes, nails, and home decor.

Summer has passed and its time to retire the hot pink and neon orange nail polish. But do not fret fashionistas, Essie is here to help ring in the new season! Here are a few of shades from their collection to welcome winter:
1. First, blend all the ingredients in a bowl until everything is evenly distributed.
2. Next, use a make-up brush or freshly washed hands to apply the mask on a clean face, neck, and upper chest.
3. Allow the mask to dry, this should take about ten to twenty minutes.
4. Finally wash off the mask with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
Don’t forget to hydrate your face everyday with your regular lotion/moisturizer, and because we live in Florida make sure it has sunscreen!
The latest make-up trend for the fall and winter seasons is nudity. This trend will allow you to show off your natural beauty by highlighting your features with subtle color. You can pull off this natural look by using the right concealers for your complexion and by adding iridescent pinks to your color palette. Make sure you don’t use thick black mascara because this will overpower your eyes; instead, accentuate your eyes with an eyebrow pencil to create full brows. And as for lips, nude colors work beautifully or try making a statement with sultry red lipstick.
