The man bun became the dominant trending men's hairstyle in 2014. I personally love the man bun; it's sexy in an effortless way and because the topnot became a popular womans trend as well, we were all sorta matching with our little buns.
But, the man bun is now evolving into something better. It's time to think outside the bun. I'm not talking about tacos, I'm talking about the #ManBraid.
Men are now French Braiding their excess hair back and I'm obsessed! This look is edgy and extremely versatile. Styles are ranging from intricate, tight braids to messy and uneven.
Many guys are buzzing the sides of their heads and leaving the top free to braid as they please, as shown in the pictures.
I LOVE this style. It adds volume and a uniqueness to the common man bun, while keeping the hair away from the face.
How do you guys feel about this Khal Drogo inspired look? Let us know in the comments section and our Facebook page!
Excuse me while I look up some more #manbraid pics
It's no secret that college and eating healthy are not best friends. Between early morning classes, late night Starbucks study sessions, and going out with friends, it's practically impossible to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs. I know a lot of people say frozen meals aren't good for you but I've found that frozen meals are the easiest way to get a good meal and know exactly what all is in it. Thanks to brands such as Lean Cuisine, Smart Food, Jimmy Dean, and Healthy Choice, frozen meals aren't the disgusting, weird looking food people are used to. They have such hearty options that aren't too expensive but at the same time, filling.
1. If you know that you're going to be busy in the upcoming week, try to have all your meals prepared that Sunday before.
2. When you go grocery shopping, set a budget that way you're not tempted to buy those cookies or Little Debbie cakes. Make a grocery list and stick to it.
3. Late nights are inevitable therefore, coffee is a must. If you go to Starbucks try to ask for no whip on your coffee or ask them if they can make it "skinny." Instead of getting a Large, try to get a small. Especially since it's Fall and Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back, try to limit yourself to only one or two a week.
4. Make sure you buy a multivaitamin like One a Day or the drug store's brand. It's hard to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs so a multi vitamin is great for that and preventing you from catching that cold everyone gets once November comes.
Easy Meals to Try On The Go
Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal + a spoonful of peanut butter
Lean Cuisine frozen meals. My personal favorites is the Panini and personal pan pizza.
Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches. There is also a wide variety of these if you don't like English muffins. Some have croissants or biscuits. Jimmy Dean also makes a really good breakfast bowl.
What are some of your favorite healthy, on the go meals?
The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Adam Samberg, aired September 20th and the Red Carpet did NOT disapoint.
As the youngest in the Kardashian-Jenner empire, Kylie Jenner is starting to make a name for herself outside of her 36.4 million followers on Instagram. Quickly becoming an it-girl when it comes to fashion and beauty, she released her official app this past week which earned the number one spot on the App store beating out all of her sisters who also launched their own apps. Any user can get a free 7 day trial but after that it costs $2.99 per month to keep full access to the app. The app ranges from ‘#tbt” with vintage pics of Kylie with her friends and family to ‘Neeeeed’ where Kylie shows her latest fashion crazes. Amongst my favorite sections are ‘Cop My Style’ where she posts her favorite outfits and includes more affordable options and ‘Help! My Face Is F#cked!’ where she and co-host, Gigi Gorgeous, make videos about their favorite beauty secrets. Kylie also does live-streams which are casual looks into her every day life (my favorite was her and her sisters dancing to Justin Bieber). The app does a great job at reflecting Kylie's style and lets to users feel as if they are real-life best friends with Kylie. As one of Kylie’s first big projects I think she did a really great job and I’m excited to see what she does next.
No matter how many times you watch the New York Fashion Week snap story or live stream it on your computer, there is nothing quite like getting to experience fashion week first hand. So much happens in the eight days that is fashion week, no matter how much you try to keep up with it, you're bound to at least miss something. The blog is split up to the two main topics of fashion week- On The Runway and On The Streets- to give you an over view of the trends you will be seeing in the Spring/Summer of 2016.
ON THE RUNWAY
My two favorite looks that were all over the run way were the 70's and the two piece business suit that's not so fit for the office. Jeremy Scott's show was so 70's inspired I genuinely felt like I was in a time machine. The 2 piece outfit is my favorite up and coming trend because it can be worn so many ways. I love the unexpected twist on the classic business suit making it wearable outside of the office such as a night out with friends.
ON THE STREETS
The only things that is (almost) better than the looks on the run way is the looks on the street seen during New York Fashion Week. From bloggers to celebrities to journalist, everyone wants to look their best and prove that they know what is fashionable. Below are my favorite looks.
Comment and let me know what trend you're excited to see.
We all know how to Contour and are becoming familiar with Strobing, but what is Face Baking?
Well, it’s a technique Kim Kardashian uses...so we know it’s legit.
This method will give you an AMAZING airbrushed look. Here’s how to achieve it:
This method is great because it provides you with long-lasting look that gives you an HD poreless appearance.

There is nothing better than when a trend comes along that is as comfortable as it is cute. It has become time for skinny jeans to be put on the back burner (although don't freak out, they're still cute!) so that boyfriend jeans can slowly make their ways into the closets and hearts of women everywhere. Contrary to popular belief, boyfriend jeans can be worn no matter the occasion (within reason). Trying just lay low and look casual? No problem, just throw on your fav sneakers with a pair and call it a day. Trying to look chic and put together? Slide on a crop top (or oversized sweater now that we're transitioning into Fall) with a pair of pumps and you might as well be walking down the runway.
Below are some of my favorite looks that can be created with the items in your closet you already have and your new favorite pair of boyfriend jeans:
Upload a picture to Instagram showing me how you style your boyfriend jeans and make sure to hash tag your picture #SoClutch.
