A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Beyoncé’s new athleisure clothing line, Ivy Park. Since I wrote that article, Ivy Park have since been released for purchase and has lead many to run to their local Nordstrom (not me, because #tally), and try on the new clothing line.
Beyoncé created this new line of clothing, because with all her performances and rehearsals, she spends a good deal of time in her gym clothes. She decided that she wanted to recreate the athleisure clothing experience, by fabricating a line of clothing for those who have busy schedules, but want to wear something comfy and stylish.
Through all the cotton and mesh, Ivy Park is giving brands like Victoria Secret’s Pink and Lululemon a run for their money. After the release of this brand, Lululemon actually posted a series of tweets about Beyoncé and Topshop stealing their ideas, but they were soon taken down.
Due to the fact that Tallahassee doesn’t have a Nordstrom (WHY!), I have had to rely on a string of reviews from different sources that have tried on the clothes. Many loved the different textures and pieces that Queen B along with Topshop has created. While others complain about the overdone branding of “Ivy Park” on the clothing, and how they believe some of the pieces do not have a practical purpose.
Ivy Park’s prices range from $20 into the $200s. It depends on the material and style of the clothing, when it comes to pricing. A good majority of the running shorts, leggings, and sports bras are priced comparable to Victoria Secret’s Pink line, and many seem to believe that Ivy Park is a higher quality of material.
Beyoncé’s athlesuire clothing line is proving to be fierce competition to other athleisure brands. Once, they release their plus sizes, Ivy Park will be a brand for every body style, and shape. With her release of Lemonade, Beyoncé is proving once again that she reigns in all her artistic endeavors. You can find these styles online at Nordstrom, Topshop, and Zolando.
P.S. Can we petition for Tallahassee to build a Nordstrom? Please & thank you!
