The day we’ve all been waiting for. She had briefly announced her thoughts on highlighters for Kylie Cosmetics, but last week the infamous Kylie Jenner finally revealed her release of Kylighters on snapchat. The collection includes 6 blinding shades for every skin color:
These Kylighters are for the girls who want to make a statement and stand out. The shades are extremely pigmented and packed with shine. Get your credit cards ready, for these highlighters are sure to sell fast!
The Kylighters will be released on Tuesday, February 28 at 3 p.m. PST (6 p.m. ET). Even though the price of the Kylighters still has not been revealed I’m sure it’ll be worth it. I mean, anything and everything Kylie is worth it...
Sleep is one of the most underrated elements of a healthy lifestyle. Getting the right amount of Zzz’s each night can help to prevent depression, spur creativity and even clear up your skin! Although sleep provides all of these life-improving benefits, most of us don’t do ourselves the favor of truly getting enough of it. With a hectic schedule, it can be hard to allocate enough time for sleep or to actually fall asleep with a million and one things on your mind. Here are a few tips that you may not have heard before to help you rest up!
Dim the lights!
Dimming your lights 30 minutes before you intend to fall asleep creates a calmer atmosphere in your room, preparing your body for slumber. Obviously, do not dim the lights while you’re trying to read or do
homework, but simply dim them as you pack up for the next day and get ready for bed.
Get a filtered screen!
Many times, you have probably heard that you should stop using your phone at least 20-30 minutes before you fall asleep. This is true! But, how likely are you to commit to avoiding that one last Instagram check before you fall asleep? Instead, invest in a UV filter screen protector that will reduce the strain on your eyes as you settle in for the night. Here is a link to my personal favorite, iLLumiSheild:
P.S. Yes, I know it’s 2017 and that iPhone now offers the “night shift” feature, but the UV filter screen protector will help with glare, even when it’s not nighttime!
Take a bath!
Taking a warm bath close to bedtime will relax your muscles and your mind in order to ensure your Zzz’s are high quality. Don’t worry, a shower works too! A lot of people prefer to shower in the morning, but this is just a quick 5-10 minute bath or shower in order to calm your body down after a long day.
Write it out!
This tip is the one that I have found most helpful, personally.Taking 15 minutes right before bed to vent about your day, in a journal, clears your mind so effectively. Instead of tossing and turning at night with thoughts clogging your mind, writing them out helps to relieve stress and release tension. Even if you just write down the things you have to do the next day, it erases one more item from your busy brain.
Maybe for you, doing all of these things each night is a little much and that’s just fine. Try one out tonight and if it works for you, stick with it. If not, choose a different one! Just remember, that with a busy life, comes a big demand for sleep!
Those in the fashion industry can all agree that Anna Wintour’s opinion is the one that can make or break a designer’s career. Her position is sought after by so many and as the movie, The Devil Wear’s Prada, so blatantly puts it – some girls would kill to work for her. So who exactly is this fashion mogul? And what’s so great about her?
With her hair styled in a neat bob, often seen hiding behind bulky designer sunglasses is Editor-in- Chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour. Employees describe her as intimidating; critics refer to her as icy and nuclear. Friends admire the genius within her; Anna just plainly calls herself a perfectionist. No matter how one perceives Anna Wintour, it is evident that she has had an impressive career in the publishing and editing world and has much to do with the success of Vogue.
Wintour was born into a family that seemingly contributed largely to her chosen career path. Having been born in London to a wealthy family, Wintour had many opportunities to do what she pleased. She dropped out of school at an early age and chose to live a life of glamour as a teenager in the 1960s, often partying and always projecting her personal style. Her father, Charles Wintour, was a driven, tough newspaper editor in England. It is clear that the apple does not fall far from the tree, as Anna’s natural
sternness and constant decisiveness are part of her well-known demeanor, just like her father.
Wintour’s early career began with a position in the fashion department of Harper’s and Queen. As she rose within the editorial world, she eventually landed the job as fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar in New York. Then, in 1986, after bouncing between smaller publications, Wintour became the editor-in- chief of British Vogue, published by Condé Nast. Displaying a strong sense of style and her own ideas for the direction of the magazine, she transformed it into a more relevant and modern read. Wintour once described herself as a “Condé Nast hit man,” referring to the way in which she routinely accepts a new job and completely turns around a publication. In 1987, she accepted the position to makeover Home and Garden and, along with some controversial decisions, renovated the publication. Her bosses at Condé Nast were impressed by her ability to bring up subscription numbers and, in general, improve the overall quality of their magazines.
Wintour had a vision for what Vogue would be under her reign. She no longer pictured supermodels on her covers. Instead, she made the switch to featuring celebrities. She also decided to veer away from close-up headshots for the cover and bring the magazine back to its fashion roots. The clothes Wintour chose to shoot were a complete mixture of high and low-end pieces. Her famous debut cover featured $50 jeans paired with a $10,000 couture t-shirt. Her contributions to the magazine have turned Vogue into a recognizable and respectable brand with thousands of readers and many worshippers of its glossy pages.
To this day she continues to lead a staff of hundreds and has designers’ fate in her hands. She is the ultimate ‘Girl Boss’ and proves that with hard work and strong self- awareness, the possibilities are endless!
If you ever have a Saturday morning to spare, consider taking a trip up to Tallahassee Nurseries. On a whim, I decided to pop into the nurseries with a friend of mine, with absolutely no expectations. The place is truly otherworldly. To be in an environment where you’re surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of different plants and flowers in a variety of sizes and vivid colors…heaven, right?!
My favorite space was the greenroom with the succulents and orchids. This place was covered in the most gorgeous plants and tiny fairy lights. It even had a cool pond in the center! Quite honestly, it is one of the most ethereal and relaxing spaces to be in.
Being in college, tending to plants isn’t quite the most convenient responsibility (believe it or not). However, succulents are such a great substitution for a plant that would probably die without certain needs met. You barely need to water them and they can live pretty much anywhere inside your house/apartment. The nursery sells them in different types and sizes for reasonable prices. I’m talking three to five dollars for some of the daintier, more delicate kinds— a steal!
Here's a breakdown, by the numbers:
$136.57 -- The per person average estimated amount that people will spend on Valentine's Day.
$1.6 billion -- The amount people will spend on candy.
$1.9 billion -- The amount people will spend on flowers.
$4.4 billion -- The amount people will spend on diamonds, gold and silver.
51% -- The percentage of people who buy red roses for this holiday.
64% -- The percentage of men who buy flowers for Valentine's Day.
36% -- The percentage of women who buy flowers for Valentine's Day.
85% -- The percentage of men and women who say sex is an important part of Valentine's Day.
The grand total?
The most shocking statistic of all?
Moral of the story, put some of that $18.2 bil towards your pets, will ya?!
If you haven't noticed already, one of the top trends in 2017 is customization. Whether it’s a jean jacket, jeans, or even purses, people are hooked on the idea of creating their own, unique piece of clothing. Some designers have started offering in store customization.
In general, individuals are shifting from a materialistic mindset to wanting a more wholesome and meaningful experience in all aspects of life- including fashion. Although we would all love a customized Gucci jacket, here's how to customize your own piece of clothing at home!
Once you have finished personalizing your piece it is time to take it to the streets. People are drawn to things they have never seen before. So when someone says, "Your jacket is so cute, where did you get it?" You can respond with "I made it!" - Wearing something you made yourself is way more fun and meaningful than a generic article of clothing you can buy in a store. Enjoy creating your own unique piece of clothing loves!
Nick sent home so many ladies on Monday, he is now down to only SIX girls! With Valentine's Day around the corner I thought we can get real lame and vote on who's gonna come out on top.

- Five reasons why these need to be your purchase -
1. They’re Trending
It’s now time to trade out those tall black thigh highs and chunky brown suede ankle booties that every strat girl loves wearing to their favorite bars on a Friday or Saturday night and trade them in for a pair of snakeskin booties- a mid-calf bootie with a covered chunky heel, just like the beloved thigh high. Although they still may be cute, they’re quickly going out of trend- sorry ladies. Don’t believe me? Take a look at Kim and now Kylie’s most recently posted Instagram pictures.
2. They go with everything. (Almost)
*But they’re PATTERNED * Yes, but they’re also a neutral pattern consisting mostly of black, brown, and cream colors. Neutrals go with everything, don’t be the girl (or guy) that’s afraid to pattern mix and just wears black jeans and a crop top. These beauties deserve more love than that, sometimes pattern mixing makes for the best or at least most interesting outfits so give it a shot!
3. Winter AND Spring
4. They’re Affordable (But still look high end)

This past week I got a small glimpse into the business world. After attending networking lunches and career fairs my stress levels were high. Usually, and especially in situations like this, wearing an outfit I feel confident in gives me more confidence. However, I quickly realized, because I have never had to dress professionally before, my wardrobe was lacking some vital components. The business world, compiled of briefcases, firm handshakes, and lunch meetings, comes with a whole set of rules indicating
what is acceptable to wear. Here are a few of the things I picked up on and learned throughout this experience.
As my week came to a close, I realized as intimidating as the world of professionalism seemed, it was
not all bad. The people that wear these suits are just that, people, and you can learn a lot from them.
Getting over the initial hump is the hardest part, but wearing the right outfit can make it a little easier, so fake it till you make it and be a boss!
Last year Beyoncé used the enormous global platorm of the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show to express her political views with a performance indebted to the Black Panthers. In combination with Bruno Mars and Coldplay, the trio was...awkward to say the least. Many speculated that Lady Gaga, an outspoken advocate for LGBT and women's rights, would use her Sunday night spot to voice her dislike of President Trump.
Instead, she focused on her performance and..it was breathtaking. The girl literally jumped off the roof of the NGR Houston stadium. Lady G swung down from the roof to a stage suspended on cables and embarked on a meticulously choreographed 13-minute set of her greatest hits during the National Football League championship game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons.
The halftime featured hundreds of drones, but you might not have realized it. The lights in the sky that the cameras kept cutting to were drones. I didn’t realize it in the moment, but they were exactly what was reported in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.
This was the most athletic Super Bowl halftime show ever. I argued this during the game, and I stand by it. Lady Gaga jumped from the roof of a stadium, did a flip on her way down, and later JUMPED OFF THE STAGE while catching a football.
After opening with Woody Guthrie's civil rights anthem This Land Is Your Land, Gaga continued to kill it. Ballad Edge of Glory was up next, followed by 2009 dance hit Poker Face. Born This Way, her anthem for self-confidence and inclusion, was beautiful. She followed this with Telephone and Just Dance, another two floor-fillers from her early career, before swinging back to Million Reasons, taken from her latest album Joanne, and finishing off the set with Bad Romance.
The mic drop.
She killed it. Best halftime show in a long, long time.
