It’s the end of February and emotions are being tossed around like salad. Whether your spring break vacation is causing you stress because you have no idea what shoes to wear with that new LF dress you got (I mean 60% off, how could you resist?) or maybe you self-diagnosed yourself with post traumatic football season disorder. Either way, there are too many emotions being circulated in Tallahassee’s air. On top of all that were now at the point of this realization…the premiere of “Fuller House” is finally coming to Netflix today, February 26th! Ahh, the greatest words to bring back the greatest of memories.
Coming home after school to drain your eyes red with non-stop episodes on ABC. A self-providing marathon, those were the days. Throughout the day you were so anxious to find out the drama that was about to unfold between D.J and Steve, Rebecca and Jesse Katsopolis, and honestly just the entire Tanner family. By the time you finished all of the episodes you were convinced that you were now qualified to change your last name to “Tanner”. The transitions and obstacles in life ranging from elementary school to college, Full House never failed to be there in times of need. Fast forward to today and the greatest news has officially arrived. The ever-waiting reunion of Full House has finally been created and now we’re patiently waiting for the “Fuller House” premiere. There are unsure thoughts battling out in my head. Yes, of course us fans should be jumping and screaming with this news, but for some reason I can’t commit myself to a positive emotion for this show. Did they really have to make a reunion show? Are they trying too hard now? Now that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are reported not to have a role is it worth watching?! (Maybe, maybe not, dude). Can we look at Danny Tanner the same now that we’re all well aware of his surprising comedic background? I guess we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves.
Aside from my minor worries with this reunion, I truly am excited and anxious to see what the cast is up to now. Did Nicky and Alex turn out cute? Are D.J and Steve married, with kids!? Did hopeless romantic Joey find his soulmate? Now these are the questions that make me want dedicate this weekend to scrunchies in my hair while binge-watching Netflix and eat double my weight in popcorn.
Where to start? Lady Gaga amazed at this years Grammy awards. From her red carpet appearance to her stunning tribute perfomance, everything was flawless. She dedicated her whole night to the memory of David Bowie and the outcome was magical. Here is an inside look on how she made it all possible:
The Red Carpet
David Bowie has been an influence over Gaga throughout her whole life. If you look up some of her old covers such as Disco Heaven: The Fame B=2.0 you will notice the similarities between her style and that of Bowie's. When asked about her feelings post-Grammys she responded "I feel like my whole career is a tribute to David Bowie.” Her Grammy performance truly succeeded in giving the audience an authentic Bowie experience while staying true to her famous 'Lady G' style. What style is this? Well if you watched her performance at the show you know that she never really conformed to one look...her makeup constantly changed throughout her performance. The new technology Gaga used to confirm to different Ziggy Stardust personas can be the start of something big. I'm talking game-changing for the industry.
Check out the video below to see how she achieved her many looks!
This year's Grammy Awards was held at the Staples Center in L.A. on Monday, February 15. In case you missed watching the red carpet event, check out this gallery that highlights some of the evening's most memorable looks!
Best of the Best
What were they thinking?
My personal favorite look was Lady Gaga in Marc Jacobs, make sure you look for my next post to read all about her fashion at the Grammys and beautiful David Bowie tribute!
This past week my instagram has been bursting with hashtags ranging from #ValentinesDay #Love to #SingleAwarenessDay #ForeverAlone . A lot of people have been asking "What should I get my girlfriend" or "What should I get the person I'm with but not officially dating". Whatever your situation is I think we could all just use a drink. I'm serious! There's little room for awkwardness and it's a good way to start conversating. Besides, nothing says romance like champagne. Or in my opinion whiskey. We all have different drink preferences so I've created a list of unique and delicious cocktails perfect for Valentine's Day:
1. Scarlet Kiss
3. Forbidden Love Cocktail
4. Expresso Martini
5. Agave Kiss
Always drink responsibly!
One of the most iconic models in the industry, Cindy Crawford has just announced that she plans to retire when she turns 50 this month! As a big fan of hers, this news was shocking to me. She just recently starred in Balmain’s 2016 Spring Campaign and posed for a swimsuit shoot in Porter.
While we will all miss her, she’s left such a strong legacy. We will never forget her and that iconic beauty mark. Crawford’s influence in the fashion industry will last for years to come; she even has an heir to continue her legacy. Her 14-year old daughter, Kaia, is likely to be just as successful as Cindy has been and I personally cannot wait to see where Kaia’s career takes her. As we say farewell to Cindy’s modeling days, let’s look back at some of her most memorable moments:
The 90’s were an incredible time for Cindy. Her Versace dress at the 1991 Oscars was a major fashion moment and spurred thousands of look alike dresses to be made.
In 1992, Cindy posed for the Capezio Campaign and Vogue Italia. The blonde pieces in her hair in the Capezio Campaign became iconic and women all over the country were flocking to their hairdresser to look more like Cindy. Her Vogue Italia shoot is definitely one of my favorites. I absolutely love this photo from her hair to her facial expression. I love it all. Everything about this shoot said “fun and confident.”
Thanks for changing the face of the industry, Cindy. We love you!

Bonjour! Let’s agree that we’ve all spent these past few days of Paris Fashion Week with the same daydream tormenting us: frolicking around the Eiffel Tower with a bottle of France’s finest rosé in one hand, a bouquet of fresh, blush-pink peonies from your French, model boyfriend who rides a Vespa in the other, and a humungous, chocolate croissant stuffed between your teeth, on your way to your next fashion show…* sigh * Maybe one day. Nevertheless—Paris fashion week is now in full swing.
Home to many top-dogs of the industry, Paris never fails to deliver a show that falls short of brilliance. We’re talking Chanel, Dior, Valentino, and eighteen more of the most elite houses in the business. It’s been three months since the last fashion week, and everyone is brimming with anticipation to see what the Spring 2016 collections will bless us with. Here’s your recap of some highlights from this week:
Chanel opened the week with a bang, as expected. Prim and proper Chanel dressed the runway in pale hues, balletic textures, and, of course, a fresh take on the staple Chanel dress suit.
Dior’s spring collection had a more sophisticated feel to it compared to the flowery youthfulness of Chanel. The collection featured structured, sharp, irregular silhouettes and darker tones of olive, navy, and black.
Bizarre and unorthodox, Margiela’s show reaffirmed their reputation of not ever playing by the rules. Eccentric, baggy fabric draped aimlessly over the models. The look of the collection was loose, drooping, and almost disorderly, yet it pulled off a “too cool” factor.
The theme of Valentino’s spring collection seemed to be historic—early 20th century. Almost every look was some form of long, flowing gown adorned with an ornate, golden, body harness. Golden serpents rested on the crowns of the models. The collection featured luxurious, jewel tones, and intricate embroidery.
New York Fashion Week is only two weeks away. Let’s see if the States can keep up with Paris’ avant-garde attitude from this past week.
