Gluten Free? Vegetarian? Neither of the two? Great! This sandwich appeals to all walks of life. Perfect for an afternoon snack or make it a meal by adding some fruits or veggies on the side!
Udi's loaves come frozen, so pop two slices into the toaster! Toast your bread to your desired toasty-ness. In a small dish, combine about 1.5-2 table spoons of hummus with 1/4 avocado. Smash the avocado into the hummus with a fork, trying to blend out as many chunks as possible. Once the toast in finished, sprinkle some cheese on one half, and microwave for 10-13 seconds to melt it. Spread the hummus blend onto the other half of the loaf. When the cheese is finished melting, remove that half from the microwave and top with TJ's Tropical Salsa, and then add several spinach leaves. Complete by putting the hummus-ed half on top, and call it day!
It’s no secret that image is important in the workplace. When making first impressions your look can lead people to make assumptions about your character and competence. So can bright and bold polish be considered professional? I say, YES! Nail polish is incredibly fun and can help portray your creative and energetic personality. However, there is a grey area when it comes to what is too much. Here’s some basic guidelines to follow:
1. Stay AWAY from neon, sparkles, feathers, crackle, and anything else that may be considered eccentric. If you are unsure whether or not a polish is too much, it probably is.
2. Stick to ONE solid color. A simple, thin french tip is okay, but you don’t want any patterns, drawings, or god forbid, some type of leopard or tiger print!
3. Your nails should look as put together as the rest of you! Keep them neatly trimmed and clean.
Essentially, your nails can be colorful as long as they aren’t distracting. Go ahead and pick up some bright shades for this spring!

With editorial photoshoots coming to an end, everyone at CLUTCH is feeling confident and excited about putting together our current issue. The photoshoots were all successful, and the directors concepts all got the attention necessary to help them shine through. A key player in these photoshoots was local makeup artist, Allison. She worked on every shoot to make sure the makeup fit with all the looks, and proved to everyone at CLUTCH how versatile she is in her abilities to work with men and women alike. After all the madness came to a close, we got a chance to ask her about some of her favorite beauty tips, and get some insight on where she learned about and built a passion for makeup and beauty.
Christie (C): When did you start noticing you had a passion for makeup?
Allison (A): Probably my junior year of high school. I wasn't really into my studies so I would watch YouTube videos on makeup. I started watching these girls just sitting in their rooms, and applying makeup on their face, they looked like completely different people. I thought it was so cool how foundation, concealer, or penciling in your eyebrows could enhance your natural beauty. It all just started to stick with me and I got obsessed honestly.
C: So you would say that YouTube is a good frame of reference for people trying to learn more about doing their makeup?
A: Absolutely. You can find a video explaining any beauty technique you want to learn.
C: If you had to name 3 favorite beauty products, what would they be?
A: L'Oréal Telescopic Carbon black mascara, I swear by that. Also, my eyebrow pencil from Anastasia in soft brown. Any lightweight foundation is a must, with a good bronzer, I use L'Oréal True Match.
C: Do you have any celebrities who embody your favorite make up style?
A: Kim Kardashian, by far. I know it’s cliché, the Kardashian’s and all, but their makeup never displeases me. It’s always on point. When I look for ideas, I’m always looking at them. They have a lot of different looks and it always turns out flawless.
C: What would be your dream career within the beauty or entertainment industry?
A: I would love to obviously start my own makeup line and build my own brand. I would want to be the only ambassador for my company. To start with Sephora and just move up to even more high end stores from there with my products.
C: What else do you like to do when you’re not doing makeup or obsessing over makeup on YouTube?
A: I love to hangout with my friends, obviously. I like to cook, I’m Italian so I like to try and recreate my families dishes. I think cooking is a way to be creative and is really fun.
C: Why did you move up to Tallahassee?
A: Well I fell in love with the campus. I was ready to get away from my hometown, and all my friends were here so that was a plus. Then I just knew that Tallahassee and Florida State would be the place to pursue my career in beauty and arts. I could just feel that there would be good opportunity here.
C: What is your signature fragrance that makes you feel like a power woman?
A: Oh jeez, it’s definitely the Jimmy Choo. The original Jimmy Choo perfume in the purple bottle. That’s my go to. It’s just such a sexy smell, it’s definitely my favorite.
C: What are your favorite clothing stores to shop at or brands to buy?
A: I love Forever 21, and I know that may sound weird, but even though they’re cheap I always get quality. I really like BeBe, and I shop at Aldo for shoes.
C: If you could give your #1 beauty tip, what would it be?
A: Blend the foundation, BRING IT DOWN TO THE NECK. That’s all I have to say. You never want to be wearing a mask.

Technically everything and anything from Free People could be considered a weekly weakness. This "We The Free Circle In The Sand Tee" is my current favorite shirt. You can pair this tee with virtually anything, dressing it up or down. Below are some outfits that I created with this tee, including an actual outfit that I wore with this tee in white!
Look 1 shows how you can wear this tee any day of the week, or everyday. Lets go with everyday. Wear this shirt everyday. Do it. It will change your life. I paired the shirt with some ripped boyfriend jeans and black Birkenstocks. You can wear this outfit to class, lunch, or even on a date! Throwing this shirt over classic leggings or any other style of pants could work while substituting the shoes for converse or vans can also create a comfy, yet stylish look!
Look 2 shows how you can wear this simple tee to a fancy event! Paired with a metallic maxi skirt and statement jewelry, this shirt can be dressed up to fit any occasion. This shirt is so comfy, I always find new ways to incorporate it into my outfits.
Find your joy. Then do it. Be it. Live it.
Here is Look 3 (aka yours truly in this Free People shirt). I went for a casual look, wearing the tee with ripped black shorts, a vest and Steve Madden combat boots. You can find more pictures of the look on my personal blog: www.adventuremeetsstyle.weebly.com
If you need some inspiration, these fashion addicts have got it down.
My advice? Just put your names out there.
I’ve included my favorite elixir combinations below! I asked my roommates to save any jars they had, and I used those to store my different elixirs so I could have a few options for the week!
After washing your strawberries, cut off the tops, and thinly slice them vertically. After washing your oranges, thinly cut them into round slices, as pictured.
Again, wash your berries, cutting off the tops, and cut into vertical slices. Rinse your mint leaves, and rip into halves.
Wash and slice cucumbers, and leave the skin on if you want to! Rinse your mint leaves, and rip them in halves (or smaller, if the leaves are large).
After washing your lemon, cut into circular slices (as pictured). Ginger root is sort of complicated, but I promise it's worth it! Wash the root, and break off a piece of how much you want to use. Use a peeler to peel the skin off (like you would a potato). Once the root is peeled, grate the ginger, or use the peeler to make small thin slices. (PSA: Ginger rocks. It's great for tummy aches, too!)
