I don’t know about you, but sitting on the couch with your friends while watching the red carpet before an awards show is the best feeling. Recently, Pantone announced the color of the year, Ultra Violet, so of course the stars had to follow. There were a lot of some unique looks on the carpet Sunday night, and I’m here to tell you who I think wore it best, and who definitely missed the mark.
Hailee Steinfeld wore a simple, yet elegant, white dress by Alexandre Vauthier with a high slit to show off her striking purple boots. She paired her couture gown with a popping turquoise eyeshadow. This look has been talked about the most in my opinion because you either love it or absolutely hate it. The cool combo is different and chic which fits exactly who she is.
To keep up with the color trend, singer Zayn Malik wore a light rose suit by Richard James. He paired this with the classic Ralph Lauren loafers. This quiet colorful suit really expressed a unfamiliar side of Zayn as he branched away from his usual all-black style.
Something different yet stunning, Chrissy Teigen. She wore a gorgeous silver Yanina Couture dress which highlighted her adorable baby bump perfectly, looking like precious metal dressing the music royalty. She finished this look with a tiny red clutch to give her dress another pop.
So who did win best dressed? If you ask me, of course, be Lana Del Rey. Her starry gown by Gucci gave her an illuminating glow that followed her around the whole night. This glowing artist was by far the best dressed.
Now onto the not-so-best dressed. Keeping up with the purple trend, Pink walked down the red carpet wearing an Armani Privé feathered dress. She paired it with a thick leather belt which made the whole look too rugged for a glamour event. The feathers made her look messy and disorganized in addition to the drastic colors that screamed at you. Definitely not my favorite outfit.
Unfortunately, Sarah Silverman missed the memo that she was at the Grammy’s and not Gasparilla this past weekend. She wore black Maggie Marylin dress, pairing it with a pearl necklace and Vince Camuto clutch. The worst part of it all was that she wore fishnets and combat boots making the outfit a little too casual for a red carpet event. Yikes.
Did anyone happen to notice that Beyoncé didn’t make the red carpet? Of course, she still rocked all three of her black custom design dresses this past weekend. Are we ever disappointed with this star family? I don't think so!
Hope you enjoyed a little Grammy’s overview, and I can’t wait to see what the stars come up with next for the Oscars! Flip through the gallery above to see the looks we loved and the looks we could have gone without!
